My academic journey in music has been grounded in rigorous classical training, sustained scholarly engagement, and national-level recognition. I hold Master’s degrees in Hindustani Music and Odissi Music, earned through advanced study at Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, and Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh—institutions renowned for their role in preserving and advancing Indian classical music traditions. These programmes provided me with comprehensive training in raga theory, tala systems, compositional forms, voice culture, and the aesthetic foundations of classical vocal music.
Through this dual specialization, I developed a strong command over both Hindustani and Odissi traditions, gaining clarity in their distinct musical grammars while engaging deeply with their shared philosophical and expressive roots. My academic training emphasized disciplined performance practice, analytical listening, and interpretative depth, all of which continue to shape my work as a performer and teacher.

In addition to my formal training in music, I completed a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Utkal University, Odisha. This interdisciplinary academic background has enriched my understanding of music as a cultural and social practice. The study of anthropology has enabled me to approach classical music not only as an artistic form, but also as a living cultural tradition shaped by history, community, and transmission across generations.
My work and academic commitment to classical music have been recognized at the national level by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. I am a recipient of both the Junior Scholarship and Senior Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture, acknowledging my potential and continued excellence in the field of classical music. Further, I have been honored with the Senior Fellowship, one of the highest recognitions granted by the Ministry, in recognition of my sustained contribution, research orientation, and artistic merit in Indian classical music

Professionally, I am an ‘A’ Grade Artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, a distinction conferred upon artists who demonstrate a high level of classical proficiency, consistency, and artistic integrity. This recognition has enabled me to contribute to national broadcast platforms, helping bring classical vocal music to wider and more diverse audiences.
Together, my academic qualifications, scholarships, and professional credentials reflect a long-term commitment to classical excellence, intellectual depth, and cultural responsibility. They continue to guide my work as a performer, educator, and lifelong student of Indian classical music, rooted in discipline, reflection, and devotion to tradition.
